Gloucester City Council new and improved refuse collection starts 1st February
You can recycle more!
From the 1st of Feb Gloucester City residents will have a new weekly food waste collection and enhanced recycling scheme which will help to reduce the food waste that ends up in the landfill sites.
There will also be collections of all plastic bottles, light card (non corrugated) and household batteries in green recycling boxes.
If you live in Gloucester City area you should have received two new food waste caddies by now (not all properties are included in the primary stage of the scheme roll out** see below). The food waste will be taken to a special processing plant where it will be recycled into compost, for use on farms.
N.B Flats will not be included in the roll out of the first phase, for more information please contact Gloucester City Council. For an introductory leaflet on the scheme please click here.
