Meet Recycler “Rocky” at your local tip!

Recycler "Rocky" Gloucester based Recycling Advisor, 36 year old Robert Simmonds, otherwise known as “Rocky”, has been more used to commuting to work using his own snow mobile!

Rocky, who lived in Quebec in Canada for 16 years before moving to Gloucestershire in the nineties said: “I miss the snow. We had it for 4 months of the year and I loved it. However I now enjoy Sunday morning walks at the docks in Gloucester with my fiancée”.

Rocky, who is getting married in October, now cycles to his workplace at the Household Recycling Centre at Hempsted in Gloucester. He has worked as a Recycling Advisor for nearly 7 years. “I’m glad to help anyone who comes to the site. You meet lots of interesting people. People are taking recycling more seriously, as I often witness customers telling others to separate their recyclables, so they don’t go to landfill”.

All 5 Household Recycling Centres in the County are ready to take your recyclables. They are open everyday except Christmas Day and New Years Day. The recycling rate at all of the sites is on target to reach at least 60 per cent this financial year.
